Hey, guys! I just couldn't stay away. I'm halfway through the project I left to work on, and optimistic about finishing it well before year's end. Meanwhile, I've missed blogging. I have so much to tell you!
I can't believe October is almost over. Only two more pages on the calendar--wow.
Those marked-off days have been full of activity. It got a little cold, so these guys had to come live inside:
The dracena is way too big for any area of the apartment, but for now we're peacefully co-habiting.
The geranium has bloomed again since coming inside, much to my delight. It's next to a south window instead of on the north balcony now, so I'm sure that doesn't hurt anything.
I've gotten back into some creative writing per the encouragement and inspiration of my sister. (The ceramic measuring spoon was functioning as a paperweight before I threw down the books, in case you're wondering about the odd assemblage above.)
And, though I'm sure this is not news to anyone, I have been thrift-store shopping a wee bit, picking up pieces for projects I'd like to complete this winter. Here's a tease:
I promise to show you the details when I proceed to dismantle and then revive this shabby little shade. It's going to like its second life much better.
There's not a whole lot more to say except, "I'm tickled to be back!" I've been changing the look here a little bit. If I understand correctly, when you're on the home page you should be able to choose any of the Dynamic Views you like (top left), so in a way you have your own Wild Card to play each time you read this blog. I'm partial to Flip Card myself, but maybe something else works better for you.
I also found some advice about setting up my comments section from Erin at Living in Yellow. (Don't worry; the post title you'll see there is a gimmick. She'll explain everything.) So thanks to her, hopefully those of you who couldn't comment before can happily speak your minds now!
Last thing: I will probably post a total barrage of information in the next week or so--however long it takes me to catch you up on the happenings around here during the past month. After that I'll transition to posting once or twice a week. During my month away I've been thinking about balancing blogging with writing and other creative pursuits so...I have to be honest, posting every day may not be realistic for the long term. Thanks for reading! And let me know how the changes work for you!
